There is a new industrial computing platform on the market with a high-performance quad core processor and numerous I/O capabilities. The Industrial Automation Group of Advantech debuted the PCA-6011, which is a PICMG 1.0 full-sized single board computer (SBC) equipped with Intel® G41 and ICH7R chipset for industrial applications.
Excellent connectivity is one of the key differentiators of this computer, as it contains multiple I/O interfaces to perform a wide variety of functions. For instance, the four SATA2 ports provide impressive data transmission rates and highly reliable read/write performance, while the two serial (COM) ports are used for device control applications. In addition, dual Gigabit Ethernet LANs offer strong networking capability and additional I/O interfaces, including ISA and FDD, ensure full backward compatibility transitioning to a new generation platform.
The PCA-6011 supports the leading industrial processors, including the LGA 775 Intel® Core™2 Quad, Core™2 Duo, Pentium® Dual-Core and Celeron® 400 series processors with FSB up to 1333 MHz. Dual channel DDR3 800/1066MHz SDRAM up to 4GB is also supported, while high storage performance and data protection are ensured with SATA RAID 0, 1, 5 & 10 software capability. Incorporating the Intel® Graphics Media Accelerator, the PCA-6011features outstanding 2D and 3D graphic processing with shared memory up to 352MB. For users, this saves money, energy consumption and thermal design effort, as there is no need for an additional add-on graphic card.
The PCA-6011 is an excellent, yet economical choice for modern industrial applications. For a total solution package, L-Tron can provide both rack-mount and wall-mount chassis options along with the PCA-6011, to perfectly accommodate the spacing requirements of virtually any industrial environment.
