The other week we pushed out an article about the technology behind Zebra’s MotionWorks and how it’s used to redefine real-time player statistics in the NFL. Now let’s take a look at how this information is used and who uses it:
How is this information used?
Well, it depends on who you ask.
The Average Fan sees these stats in a visual format on their TVs (the yellow lines trailing behind the receivers in the replay). Fans can also benefit from this information to aid them in their Fantasy Football leagues.
Plus, who doesn’t love to know how hard Frank Gore hit the A Gap or how high Odell Beckham Jr. jumped to snag that 1-handed miracle catch in the end zone?
Coaches and Players can use these stats in their games and practices to take it to the next level. As the players run off the field, these real-time stats are readily-available for them to review, seeing how Peyton managed to sit in the pocket for 5 seconds. By seeing these advanced, in-depth stats, players and coaches can make immediate game-changing decisions on the sidelines.
Similarly, teams can use these stats in practice to get more precise with their coverages or sharpen their route running in preparation for Sunday’s game.
Coaches, Owners and General Manager can use the statistics from Zebra’s MotionWorks technology to compare one player to another. This helps them determine who’s truly fit for the starting position and who’s getting paid way too much for the stats they produce (we’re looking at you, Jay Cutler).
What other questions do you have about MotionWorks and RFID technology in general? Here’s one you may be asking yourself: How can I incorporate a similar solution to my workplace? Luckily for you, Zebra’s game-changer on the field uses the same technology used in common RFID applications.
Let’s talk about how we can get you set up with RFID in your facility so you can bring your game to the next level too. Give us a call at (800) 830-9523 to get started.
