5 Reasons the Honeywell VuQuest 3310G will give you the Best Bang for your Barcode!

Honeywell-3310GWith hundreds of barcode scanners readily available on the market today, it’s become more difficult to select the best solution for your application. With so many models at your fingertips, one must navigate options such as hand held or presentation, corded (tethered) or wireless, 1D or 2D, near or far range, retail or industrial, etc. The reason I’m writing this blog is to tell you that your decision doesn’t have to be that difficult. Based on my 11 years in Industrial Automation, Data Acquisition, Warehousing, Hospitality, Retail and Government, I have found that when software doesn’t dictate hardware, the Honeywell VuQuest 3310G is the best bang for your buck.

Five Reasons the Honeywell 3310G will give you the Best Bang for your Barcode:

  1. Flexibility

    The 3310G is available as:

  • USB (PC)
  • USB (COM)
  • PS/2
  • And a serial device

This scanner can also be handheld or mounted, depending on your application. I currently have quite a few customers that mount the 3310G and communicate with them via USB Serial COM Port Emulation. You can also design around this scanner due to its size, which I will address below. This is great for any user that will need to fabricate a solution for their application in order to be successful.

  1. Size

With a small form factor of 2.9˝ long x 1.9˝ wide x 1.0˝ high, this scanner enables you to get into tight spaces to scan vital barcode information.

The universal mounting and robust presentation mode scan performance along with the ability to control the triggering of an external device have made this a popular option in manufacturing. You can build your own brackets and mount them where it makes the most sense and will provide the most return.

  2. 1D/2D

The VuQuest 3310G successfully scans all 1D and 2D barcodes (learn more about the difference between 1D and 2D barcodes here), which can be found on:

  • PCBs (Print Circuit Board),
  • FA (Final Assembly) products,
  • Retail (UPC),
  • Drivers Licenses,
  • patient wristbands,
  • shipping labels, etc.

The diversity of this scanner also enables it to scan from computers and mobile devices. Having an all-in-one solution enables the user to standardize across applications, which makes implementation, use, and service a lot easier.

  1. Performance

The 3310G is powered by Adaptus® Imaging Technology 6.0, which delivers superior barcode scanning and digital image capture. Barcode scanning and image taking is quick and easy which is vital to any process where time is money.

  2. Ease of Use

Due to its small size, ergonomic thumb-activated button, and visible LEDs, the 3310g is the ultimate handheld solution that can also be mounted for triggered scanning. No one is going to know how easy this scanner is to utilize until they have one in their hand. It is very smooth and one of the easier scanners to scan barcodes with.
