Barcode Verifiers for Major Symbologies

What is Bar Code Verification?

Verifying a barcode is more than simply scanning a bar code as it comes off the printer. When you test a barcode with one particular scanner model under one specific set of conditions in a particular environment, scanning the bar code tells you very little about how that bar code will perform in the field.

Bar code verification tells you virtually everything about how that specific barcode, and those printed in the same lot, should perform with a wide range of scanning equipment. While scanning is just machine recognition of encoded data, verification is an analysis of the encoding of that data. Verification is so critical that National and International Standards organizations have created guidelines and methodologies to measure bar code symbol print quality.

Verification is the process of
1 - Verifying a bar code against industry application and bar code standards
2 - Testing a bar code symbol to determine its standard's traceable quality
3 - Ensuring correct data structure and content
4 - Visually inspecting the code to ensure proper layout

Verification - more than the bottom line. Every day more companies are using barcode verifiers to improve productivity and reduce cost. Printed barcodes on your products or on customer packaging make a statement about what quality means to you. Consequently, you need to be sure that every bar code symbol has high quality, and that its encoded data is accurate and structured correctly.
